Hey there! π I'm Chris β a surfer, founder, digital creator, and adventure-seeker.I live with my wife and son in a small beach town in New Zealand after a 6-month surf trip turned into 10+ years. With mostly fun, mellow waves at our doorstep, I picked up a longboard to adapt to my new local break. What started as a practical decision turned into a complete obsession and opened up an entirely new side of surfing that I was missing. These days, I split my time between surfing, building a life around it, and coaching other longboarders who want to progress their skills and have more fun.

When I first started longboarding, it opened up a whole new side of surfing I was completely missing, and tripled the number of days I could surf.I was hooked. But even with years of surfing experience under my belt, there was a lot to learn to master the art of longboarding.Longboarding can look simple, but there's a lot of technical, micro movements happening that make it so.Resources to learn were limited, so I scoured the web and spent hours analyzing other surfers, practicing, and learning all the ins and outs of longboarding.Once things finally started to click for me, I ran a series on Instagram sharing what I learned. The excitement from the longboard and surf community was overwhelming, so I created this course to share more deeply about cross stepping and make it easier for others to learn. The motivation has always been to share what I know and help you have more fun in the surf.
My approach to surfing and coaching is patient and considered.I meet you where you are, break things down into plain English, and help convey the nuanced aspects of surfing you can sometimes only fully understand by experiencing what it feels like.Everyone says surfing is a hard sport, and it is β but it's also the best sport in the world. It's all about having fun, continuously learning, and enjoying the process β wipeouts and all.And I believe you can feel confident each step of the way when surrounded by the right people and mentorship. So I'm stoked you're here.

"With your tips and coaching I was able to progress my longboarding, so I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your coaching course and how itβs assisted me to feel confident cross stepping!"
